The Chandon brand is one that needs little introduction. Having secured a royal warrant to exclusively supply
champagne to Elizabeth II, the brand has achieved a remarkable level of prestige. When they released their ‘Passion’ variety of sparkling wine, CBA was challenged with promoting the release with a sense of sophistication while also conveying a sense of youthful style.
The packaging identity was aligned with a piece of print developed for the brand by La Stampa, a company specialising in fashion and clothing design. The print was brightly coloured and full of vibrancy. It proved to be an appropriate direction for the brand to take; the wine was produced with summer consumption in mind and a lively packaging design fitted to its character rather well.
To really capture the free-spirited print we were provided with, the colour scheme needed to take hold in a number of different ways, not just on the packaging. The print was used in a range of brand spaces. Airport lounges, hotels and packaging all made use of the same pattern, a world was created where the print’s personality transcended an entire room. The freedom of character that the sparkling wine effortlessly conveyed became accessible through the environment it resided in.
